Rundetårn

Rundetårn (Round Tower) stands in the center of Copenhagen by Købmagergade the main shopping street in Copenhagen. It is one of the most unusual buildings in Copenhagen. The Round Tower is 41.55 meters tall and 15 meters in diameter. The inside is a spiral ramp leading up the final pair of staircases. It was built beside Trinitatis Church in 1642 by the danish king Christian the 4th. At that time people rode up the spiral ramp on horse to the top of the tower. It was built to be an astronomic observatory used by Tych o Brache. The observatory is on of the oldest observatories that still can be used.

 

After the long walk up to the top if the Round tower you get rewarded with a fantastic view of Copenhagen.

Copenhagen Laser-tag!

When it was my birthday I had an amazing party at Refshaleøen paintball arena. we played Laser-tag not paintball. Everybody said it was the best party they ever tried. We made two teams, team hats and team no hats. We all got laser guns (not real laser) and a headband. The head band had some sensors so that we could see when we got hit. We had 6 lives. The arena was filled with some red and black soft shapes. I was first on one team then I changed to another team. There were also giant sumo costumes.

It was very tiring because we ran alot in arena. The instructor was very good. We had pizza and cake after the party. This building will soon be the place where EuroVision song contest will happen.

Mærsk Triple E

Last Saterday, I went to see Mærsk Triple E. Mærsk Triple E is the largest ship ever to sail. It is 400m long and can hold 18,000 containers! It was amazing to see it here it Copenhagen. From the top there is a fantastic view. The bridge is 57m above sea level! It weighs 63,844 tons without any containers! Mærsks second biggest ship could hold 16% less conatainers.

I think it was absolutely huge. It was a magnificent experience, however Triple E has sadly sailed away again:(

Den Blå Planet (The Blue Planet)

Yesterday I went to the blue planet with my grandmother, uncle and cuisine. We all liked it alot but the line to get in is very long usually, we stood in line about an hour to get in under the heat of the sun. Coming by car? There are alot of parking spaces.

The blue planet is Scandinavia's biggest aquarium, with more than 20.000 different species of fish and 7 million liters of water. It has eight different sections, coral reef, the atlantic, fish evolution, african lakes, the amazon, the caves, the cold oceans and far up north.

Hauser Plads' playground

Hello, today I will tell you about Hauser Plads. Hauser Plads is a little square in central Copenhagen, it was made in 1768 and it was named after Conrad Caspar Hauser, who married the sister of the Danish consul in Algeria. Conrad Hauser was a very rich man. In 1807 Hauser Plads was destroyed when the English bombed Copenhagen, but then it was rebuilt again.
I really like the new playground on this square. I think it is perfect way to spend time. My little sister goes there every day! Luckily it is very close to where we live. She really enjoyes going on the swing and playing in the sand pit. The playground almost looks like Teletubbie Land because of the pine trees, the small green hills and the funny shapes. And there is a nice coffee shop just across from the playground, which is very popular with parents :)

Ørsted Park play grounds

The Ørsted Park is a very nice park in central Copenhagen. I went there with my 1 and a half year old sister. She really enjoyed it.

The park has two nice play grounds. One of the play grounds is bigger than the other. The smallest play ground is made of wood, and has a castle with a slide that my sister really enjoyed. The other play ground is a bit newer and much larger. 

Close to the park there is a very nice food court called Torvehallerne where I bought Fish 'n' Chips, that I ate in the park. There is also a nice lake and trees. In Summer there are very many flowers, and a small cafe where you can buy an ice-cream.

Goose Tower

Hello, today I was in Vordingborg to see the Goose Tower. The Goose Tower is a historical sight, and also very old. It is 33 meters high. 

It is a part of a castle built by Valdemar the Great. But the Goose Tower was built by Valdemar the Victorious in 1336. It has a golden goose on top of it. Valdemar the Victorious said that 77 geese or 77 chickens will not scare him. He said this to make fun of Hanseatic league. The Goose Tower is the only part left from the castle.

I really liked the view from the top and the Tower. Here you can see a bridge to a nearby island, the ruins of the old castle and the harbor.

WARNING! You have to walk up alot of stairs with high steep steps.

While in Vordingborg, you can see Vordingborg harbor and buy ice-cream. There is also a very nice beach in Vordingborg called Ore Strand. 

It was very exciting and fun.

Copenhagen Zoo after 67 years...

Today I went to Copenhagen Zoo with my grandmother. She says that the first time she was in this Zoo was 67 years ago and she had not been there since. Grandma said that the animals used to stay in cages. Now the animals have habitats like their home, but the brown bear still does not seem to like the place it is. She said that the only thing that has not changed is the Zoo tower.

There has come an Arctic ring since the last time I was there. The Arctic ring is a complex dedicated to Arctic and arctic animals. We saw a polar bear swimming in the Arctic ring. It was mind-blowing.

There has come a baby elephant. The elephant's parents are so protective of it. There is also a baby hippo. The hippo was sleeping while the mother was watching it kindly. There were very many new baby animals. All the parents of the animals where so generous and kind to their children.

Little Mermaid

Hello, today I am going to tell you about The Little Mermaid. A couple of days ago I visited The Little Mermaid, and she is probably one of the best known attractions in Copenhagen.

The Little Mermaid was built by Carl Jacobsen, the founder of Carlsberg, in 1909. There have been many copies of her, for example, there is a half sized version in Canada. In 1964 the statues head was cut of, however it was restored. Then it was decapitated again in 1998. It is a very nice walk or bike tour there, and I personally think it is a very crowded but beautiful place. There is a nice view to the sea. It is close to Kastellet, one of my other blogs will tell you about it. You can also walk to the Outlet, a place with very many shops, you can also buy ice-cream.

Tivoli

Yesterday I visited Tivoli with my cousin, who came to visit from Moscow. I have already been in Tivoli about 20 times, but it was still a great experience. Tivoli is Copenhagen's biggest attraction park, it was made by Georg Carstensen in 1847. Tivoli has around 50 attractions. The scariest is probably The Dragon. The Dragon has about 10 loops and goes really fast. I have never tried it but I have tried one with 5 loops and two spins. My sister took her first ride on the Balloons. I also thought it was scary even though I am 9 and she is 1. 

There are restaurants and cafes where you can get ice-creams and other kids favorites. I recommend going there in the evening when there is lights all over and you get a feeling of being somewhere magic. I would say that any child visiting Copenhagen also has to go to Tivoli.

I really enjoyed it, so did my cousin. She is only 7 years old and not tall enough for some of the wilder rides where you have to be at least 132 cm or 140 cm. We were there on a blue moon night...

In the evening Tivoli gets really magical with a lot of lights.

Holmen

Today I visited Holmen. Holmen is an island close to Copenhagen. It is very easy to get to Holmen, you just take a water bus.

The yellow harbour bus sails around the harbour of Copenhagen and also stops at Holmen

You can have very nice walks in Holmen and can have a very delighful picnic. Holmen holds Denmarks biggest warship - the ship called Peder Skram. There is also a small boat close to Peder Skram called The Shark. Both ships are also museums.

Sælen is an old Danish submarine now out of the wather. You can get into it if you get there during its opening hours. I did not get in.

There is a very good view of Copenhagen on the other side of the harbour from Holmen.

I really enjoyed being there. I really recommend going there.

Lønstrup and Rubjerg Knude

Some days ago I visited Lønstrup with my friend Leonard. Lønstrup is a seaside village close to an edge of a cliff.

There is a very good shop in Lønstrup called Bo Bendixen. We took a very beautiful long walk to the remainings of a small church, which is hanging over the cliff. The church is called Mårup kirke. You can see that every year in the winter there are huge storms, the waves grow extremely big and crash agianst the cliff, so eventualy the cliff falls into the water (sea) and so slowly the remainings of the church will also fall into the water. We continued our walk from the church to Rubjerg Knude, which is also a desert but not as big as Råbjerg Mile, which I wrote about the other day. Rubjerg Knude graves a lighthouse. The lighthouse is stuck in the sand.

Råbjerg Mile

Yesterday I visited Råbjerg Mile. It is the biggest desert in Denmark. It is one of the most sandy deserts in all Europe, it carries 3.5 million tons of sand. It is not just any ordinary desert it is a warndring desert, which means the sand moves around. The desert leaves a low, moist layer of sand behind it, trailing back westwards towards Skagerrak, where the Mile originally formed more than 300 years ago. Over 250,000 families visit Råbjerg Mile each year.
Every time I come to my summer house I visit Råbjerg Mile because there are huge dunes, which I can jump from. It really tickles when I jump of one of the biggest dunes! While in Råbjerg Mile, I have never said I am bored or I want to go home.  I really enjoy going to Råbjerg Mile.
There is also another desert close by, it is called Rubjerg Knude close to a city of Lønstrup, but this is for another time...

Hirtshals Nordsøen Oceanarium.

Two days ago I visited one of the top ten attractions in Denmark. It is called Nordsøen Ocenarium in Hir-
tshals. It is a bunch of aqauriums and fun activities for kids. At 1 O`clock they feed the fish in the tanks. It is very interesting. There is a scuba diver in the tank.

There are some sharks in the tank but they only eat other fish. There are also the national Danish fish, the Klumpfisk (klumpfish) it is one of the biggest fish found in the Danish seas it can grow three metres long and weigh two tons.

There is a feeling pool where you can feel different animals.

There is also an outdoor playground and a seal tank. It is the biggest aqaurium in Europe it holds 4.5 million tons of water (alot). You can have a souvenier picture taken. They take the picture while you are playing a game. The game is about directing fish away from a shark but the shark pops up on the screen with an open mouth and it seems as if the shark ate you. I really enjoyed it however I think we should have stayed longer but my sister had to sleep.

Minecraft

I really like minecraft. But I am only allowed to play 2 hours per day! Minecraft is a creative game. It is made out of squares. You can make anything you want to. But when night falls you have to be ready. You have to have shelter,food,torches. Because then monsters will try to kill you.
If you dont have shelter you should have swords to fight away the monsters.

Obsidian can be used for two things,1 nether portal 2 enchanting table


                                      NETHER PORTAL.
The nether portal gets you into another world filled with lava and unique enemys.


                                     ENCHANTING
Enchanting is a way to power up your weapons by gathering xp. The more xp you have the better enchantments you can get. You enchant on a special table.

I really like minecraft. But I am only allowed to play 2 hours per day!

Carlsberg Glyptotek

Some days ago I visited Carlsberg glyplotek. It is a museum of ancient sculptures of the  ancient romans, ancient Egyptians, ancient paloroma, ancient Mediteranean. Though I only visited the ancient egyptian section. There were many sculptures of the gods and pharoahs and priests (in ancient egypt priests worked in temples).There was even two real mummies(mummified ones). I thought it was fantastic.
There is a cafe in calsberg glyplotek which is lovely.You can have a delicious cake and a lot of other yummy things.

Just inside Glyptoteket there is a very nice indoor garden with this little fountain

Christianshavn playground

4 days ago I visited Christianshavn's playground. I thought it was extremely fun. There was a giant pyramid net, cable ride, obstacle course, football court, tennis nets, an area for bycicling, a playground for the younger children(½ year-6 years), table tennis, basketball court and a big rolling barrel. This is the only playground in Copenhagen with a cable ride and a pyramid net which I've seen so far. It is close to a big lake where you can go for a lovely walk. There are several picnic tables. There are nearby attractions of Christianshavn, which I will tell you all about later.

Kastellet

Sorry I was not writing lately. Kids in Copenhagen are very busy – school, sports and all the after school activities. But good news is that I am back!

Star shaped island of Kastellet

Yesterday I visited Kastellet. Kastellet is the oldest still working military barracks .It is from the 1660´s. It is shaped like a star. Kastellet even has a prison, church, powderhouse, windmill and a commander’s house. The Church at the Citadel was built in 1704 in a baroque style during the reign of King Frederik IV. There is a 20 meter wide moat and a rampart all around Kastellet, where you can have a nice walk. You have a fantastic view of the city on the hills on the star shaped island.

There is a playground on the other side of the rampart (by the Swedish Church). It is between the King´s bastion and the Prince´s bastion.

FunCity Copenhagen

Today I went to FunCity. It was my friend Cameron's birthday. I thought it was a wonderful party. I stayed there 3 hours! I was running nearly all that time! When the party was over, I was so tired I could barely move (I was not surprised).
There is a lot of entertainment for children in the FunCity. There are three giant bouncing castles; two playgrounds for younger children; a giant "playroom", which is 5 floors tall and around 30-35 meters wide. There are also two football courts, two foosball tables, three Wii, 4-5 table-tennis pitches, two arcade machines.
The FunCity is in Hoerkaer 3d, 2730-Herlev.
I love FunCity; it is the best indoor playground in Copenhagen and a great place to have a birthday party.
