FunCity Copenhagen

Today I went to FunCity. It was my friend Cameron's birthday. I thought it was a wonderful party. I stayed there 3 hours! I was running nearly all that time! When the party was over, I was so tired I could barely move (I was not surprised).
There is a lot of entertainment for children in the FunCity. There are three giant bouncing castles; two playgrounds for younger children; a giant "playroom", which is 5 floors tall and around 30-35 meters wide. There are also two football courts, two foosball tables, three Wii, 4-5 table-tennis pitches, two arcade machines.
The FunCity is in Hoerkaer 3d, 2730-Herlev.
I love FunCity; it is the best indoor playground in Copenhagen and a great place to have a birthday party.

Rosenborg Castle

Today I went to Rosenborg slot (slot means castle). There was a treasure hunt that I participated in which was very fun. The treasure hunt was nicely organized so that you saw the whole castle during the hunt. I especially liked the treasure room in the basement where the most valuable treasures of Denmark are kept. To finish the treasure hunt you had to find all the clues that each was a letter and a story - I will not tell you the answer to the treasure hunt. If you complete the treasure hunt you get a candy called Heksehyl which means "witch scream".

Inside Rosenborg slot I saw the clothes of King Christian the Fourth that he wore during a famous battle against Sweden. The clothes was all bloody. Here is a song written about the occasion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyCMcF-1SR4&feature=related.

I also saw a statue of a boy Carl that lived in the same house where I live now but he lived in the house more than 300 years ago - Interesting! Carl was a play mate of King Christian the Seventh.

Rosenborg slot (castle) was built in 1606-1607. It was built by Christian IV ( fourth ). Rosenborg slot (castle) is in Kings garden, Copenhagen.

8-years old

Good news everybody. Finished with Kid in Copenhagen as a seven-year old - I am now 8 years old. I had a very nice birthday party with 20 kids from my school. The party was at the zoological museum in Copenhagen. I will write a blog about the museum soon.

End of Elephant Parade in Copenhagen

The 26'th of August all the elephants went out of Copenhagen. For me it is a big shame, and I will miss them. I still did not see all of them. I saw only 98 out of the 102 elephants. I hope the Elephant parade will come back to Copenhagen another time. Thank you people who made the elephants - It was fun for me to find them and I learned a lot about my city while looking for elephants.

Lego Store Copenhagen

My favourite shop in Copenhagen is the new Lego Store. It opened in October 2010, and I have been there already many times. I love Lego and especially Technic. My last purchase in the Lego Store was a Lego Technic truck - Actually it was my grand mother who bought it for me. The truck is 50 cm long and it was difficult to build.

The new Copenhagen Lego Store is the second biggest Lego shop in Denmark, after the Legoland shop. I really like the Copenhagen Lego Store. I love to go there and look at all the many Lego boxes and exhibitions. In the Store you can get a VIP card that gives you a 200 DKK discount. The Store is on Vimmelskaftet which is a pedestrian street right in the centre of Copenhagen. The people working in the Store are really nice and once they gave me a little Lego thing for free.

Post and Tele Museum

Today I went to Post & Tele Museum with my grandma and my friend Alexander. It was very fun and exiting. It has five stars but I would only give it four. It has a big playground, which is really fun. You can see loads of old days television sets, phones, cameras, radios, ships, postmen and their bikes. You can use a real old phone. If you have never been to Copenhagen before you probably don't know that postmen bring post on bikes and they wear a red uniform. There is free entry to the museum and it's really worth going there. There is also a great rooftop cafe where you can have a great lunch while enjoying a great view over Copenhagen.

Carlsberg Visitor Center

Today I visited the Carlsberg Visitor Center with my grandmother. It was'nt really that fun. Most of all I did not like the smell there of some kind of beer or something. There is a bottle collection, and you just go around seeing the factory where they make beer. We left early because I could not stand the smell. The good thing about the visit was that I got 3 different kinds of soda: Sweppes Lemon, Carlsberg sport, and Cola light. I also had chips. All in all I dont think it is an interesting place for kids.

My Vacation

Now I am back from my vacation. I had a wonderful time. One of the really cool things I tried was Faarup Sommmerland. It was very fun. It costs 230 kr and then you can try all the rides inside. I especially recommend the three different roller coasters called Falken, Lynet, and Flagermusen.
Lynet that I tried two times

The best thing during my vacation was going to the city called Skagen. I tought that the best thing in Skagen is Grenen, which is the edge of Denmark. It was very fun. I had my very good friend Leonard along, so it was a lot more fun. I highly recomend you to go to Skagen. In Skagen there is a butcher called butcher Munch he is the best butcher in Denmark and maybe the best butcher in the world.
Something we always do in Skagen - eat ice-cream on the beach in Gammel Skagen

...where two seas meet

I also went to the city called Sindal where we went to the best bakery in Denmark called Ingeborg.

I had my summer house near the city called Tversted, and I went to a forest called Tversted plantage to pick mushrooms. I really liked the beach, where you could get ice cream. The biggest ice cream you could get was called a Super Kalle. The biggest I got was three scoops it was very yummy. I had a woderful time!
Delicious strawberries, which we picked almost every day on the strawberry fields close to Tversted

Old farm in Vester Tversted - great bike ride from Tversted

On vacation

I am going on vacation now. I am going to the top of Denmark. I am to the north of Jutland for my vacation.  You will hear a long story about what happened in Jutland, when I am back. I wish you all a very good summer vacation. Last year when I was in my summer house the same place it was very fun. There are some special ice creams in Tannisby. Tannisby is where I am going today and where my summer house is.

Painting the elephant named Parade

Yesterday I went to the store on Vester voldgade in Copenhagen were you can paint an elephant. My elephant is called Parade. It is very fun to paint an elephant. I think that you should try. It took a very long time, it nearly took 2 hours to paint it.
You have to leave it in the store for one or two days before you can pick it up. It costs 200 kr to paint an elephant. I just picked up my Parade elephant. You can see it on the photo.

Copenhagen Zoo

My grandma has come and today we went to the zoo. Copenhagen zoo is very big, and it has loads of different animals. I was there for 2,5 hours and I saw: elephants, tigers, bears, monkeys and many more animals. I like the  tropical zoo most because it is warm and interesting - you can see crocodiles, butterflies, snakes, monkeys, frogs. My grandma likes the tigers most. There are 2 playgrounds and a petting zoo where you can touch little goats. You can get ice creams, popcorn, candy floss and healthy foods.
I've been to the zoo many times and I would recommend it for everybody I really like it. Today I went to the zoo on bus number 6a from down town Norreport.

Elephant hunt - Continued...

Today is Sunday and I went elephant hunting again, continuing from my previous hunt http://kidincopenhagen.blogspot.com/2011/06/elephants-in-copenhagen.html. Today I saw 19 new elephants, which I never saw before, so now I have 68. I have a map of where all the elephants are, so it's easier to find them. A sad news I found out today is that some elephant have been taken away because people destroyed them. It is such a shame, because now I will never be able to see them. Only today I counted 5 of those, which were removed (Midnight Rainbow, Spina, Paradise Lost, Bring it on Copenhagen!, Green Heart). It makes me sad that some people in my city have been destroying them. But on the other hand I have some good news - I found a shop on Vester Voldgade, where there is another elephant located, which is a very special one - it is called Mosha. Mosha is an Asian elephant, which stepped on a landmine and its leg got blown off. Mosha is still alive because she was found and she got an artificial leg. In this shop there is a work shop, where kids can decorate their own elephants - I will try this another day and tell you later. See the new pictures of the elephants I added to my slideshow today:

Another interesting thing I found out during my hunt is that today was the National hotdog day. We ended up in the celebration. I ate one hotdog, my dad had three. What a lucky day...

Lejre

Today I went to Lejre, 36 kilometres east of Copenhagen. Lejre is the most ancient capital of Denmark and home to the legendary king Skjold of Denmark. There are 25.000 burial mounds in Denmark, some of them are 5.000 years old. Today I crawled in to one of them, called Oem Jettestue. It is dark and little room in there. I also went to the Land of Legends Lejre Museum. You can make bread or flour there as people did many years ago, you can also go canoeing. I met my friend George there - it was a big surprise. We had a fun time together. I have got a season ticket to the Museum, so I look forward to coming back. I really enjoyed it!

Dyrehavsbakken

Today I went to Dyrehavsbakken. It's the oldest entertainment park in the world. It is 500 years old. My favourite ride is the mine train. I also liked the water log ride. It has two hills where you go down in a log, you get really wet from the biggest hill. You can have a picnic in the park. You can get to Bakken by car or by S train (You go to Klampenborg station on the train). I really enjoyed it!

The old roller coaster, build in 1932

In Dyrehavsbakken trees and green are all around

I went back to Dyrehavsbakken again together with my good friend Gustav to celebrate our last day of school. We went on all the rides and had an excellent time. Gustavs mum made a film of us when we took the water log ride, which is one of my favourites.

Here is something fun to do in Copenhagen when weather is bad

Bicycling on the island of Ven

If you live in Copenhagen or visit Copenhagen, you can go to a Swedish island called Ven. You can only get there by ferry, it takes 1h 30 min and ferry leaves at 9.00 in the morning. Here is a link to more information about the ferry: link. It is always a good fun. You can either take your own bike on the ferry or rent a bike on the island or walk all the way. It is 11.7 km all the way around. There is a nice museum on Ven about the Danish scientist called Tycho Brahe. I went to Ven this weekend. The weather was gorgeous, the biking trip was a bit tough (nearly no paved roads and it is hilly). I could also swim but the water was really cold. I would definitely  recommend this trip if it is nice weather .

Elephants in Copenhagen

There are 102 elephants decorated by artists all over Copenhagen. You can see them from the first of June to the twenty fifth of August 2011. They will be sold on the seventh September. They will send the money to the Asian elephants. I like to find out where all 102 elephants are, and it is a fun game to go around Copenhagen hunting them. If you find some more then please tell me.Some can be hidden in shops. I have found 49 elephants.

Here are photos that I took of some of the elephants:
